Motherhood is full of beauty. But it can also be full of hard.

Motherhood is full of beauty. But it can also be full of hard.

Motherhood is full of beauty.  A beauty like no other. A beauty rich in heart, soul and connection. A beauty that makes you go back for more.

But it can also be full of hard. A hard like you have never experienced.  A hard that challenges every part of you.  A hard that makes you question whether you can do it again.

When you’re pregnant, it can feel so hard.

When you give birth, it can feel so hard.

When you’re in the thick of postpartum, it can feel so hard.

And that’s just the start of it.

When you’re tired, when you have little support, when you have too much advice, when you can’t find a moment to breathe, when you have no idea what you’re doing, when you’re carrying a load heavier than ever,  when you worry for them and when you give them all of you, however that looks, it can feel so hard.

Why?

Because it is hard. It can be full of the hard. In fact, it can be a little too hard some days.

But in case you have forgotten, or tiredness has stolen your perspective, you are not imagining it. You are not weak.  You are not the only one going through the hard.

Collectively the tears of mothers could fill rivers.

Collectively the doubt of mothers could form clouds enough to dark out the skies.

Collectively the overwhelm of mothers could flood cities with bottled up emotions now exploded.

Because it is a collective.  Mothers are part of a collective.  And the collective can do hard things.

So Mama, know that you’re part of the collective.

Know that you’ve got this.

Know that you’re not alone.

Like every mother making up this collective, you are just trying to cherish the moments of beauty no matter how fleeting some days, and riding out the hard no matter how relentless other days,

And that’s more than enough.

You are more than enough.
